{"id":17,"date":"2010-05-25T10:33:44","date_gmt":"2010-05-25T14:33:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mritty.net\/disneyblog\/?p=17"},"modified":"2011-12-20T10:04:23","modified_gmt":"2011-12-20T15:04:23","slug":"disney-podcasts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mritty.net\/disneyblog\/?p=17","title":{"rendered":"Disney Podcasts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A large part of my planning for WDW and Disneyland trips comes from staying on top of current announcements and updates going on at the resorts and parks.\u00c2\u00a0 One way to stay informed on that information is by reading various websites (see the <strong>Disney Resources <\/strong>on the right sidebar).\u00c2\u00a0 Another way is by listening to Disney podcasts.\u00c2\u00a0 The arena of Disney podcasts is just insanely large.\u00c2\u00a0 There are more of them than you could possibly listen to in any reasonable time frame.\u00c2\u00a0 They vary in length, in quality, in focus, in humor, in frequency, in content.\u00c2\u00a0 I find some of them entertaining.\u00c2\u00a0 I find some of them helpful.\u00c2\u00a0 I find some of them to be both.\u00c2\u00a0 The podcasts I describe and link to here are by no means an exhaustive list of all Disney podcasts, they are simply the ones I&#8217;ve found and subscribed to, and listen to on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"WDW Radio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wdwradio.com\" target=\"_self\">The WDW Radio Show<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Hosted by Lou Mongello, author of the WDW Trivia Books.\u00c2\u00a0 WDW Radio is released weekly on Sunday or Monday.\u00c2\u00a0 It is by far the most professional Disney podcast out there.\u00c2\u00a0 Also the most informative.\u00c2\u00a0 It has segments on Disney news and rumors, attraction trivia and history, celebrity guests, games and contests, dining and resort reviews, &#8220;Best of the best&#8221;, and in-depth analysis of overlooked details.\u00c2\u00a0 Each show varies in length, generally between one and two hours.\u00c2\u00a0 If you only have time to listen to one podcast on a regular basis, this is the one to subscribe to.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"WDW Today\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wdwtoday.com\" target=\"_self\">WDW Today<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Hosted by Matt Hochberg of <a title=\"Studios Central\" href=\"http:\/\/www.studioscentral.com\" target=\"_self\">Studios Central<\/a>, and features Len Testa of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and <a title=\"TouringPlans.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.touringplans.com\" target=\"_self\">TouringPlans.com<\/a>, Mike Scopa of <a title=\"All Ears\" href=\"http:\/\/www.allears.net\">All Ears<\/a>, and Mike Newell of <a title=\"Mouse World Radio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mouseworldradio.com\" target=\"_self\">Mouse World Radio<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 It is released three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.\u00c2\u00a0 Each show is about 20 minutes long.\u00c2\u00a0 The Monday and Friday shows focus on a single topic, while the Wednesday show responds to listener email.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"All About The Mouse\" href=\"http:\/\/www.allaboutthemouse.com\" target=\"_self\">All About The Mouse<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Hosted by Jonathan Dichter and Bryan Ripper.\u00c2\u00a0 Released once a week, on Friday.\u00c2\u00a0 Each show is roughly an hour and a half long.\u00c2\u00a0 This is by far the most fun podcast that I listen to.\u00c2\u00a0 This podcast, while still being informative and helpful, reminds me most of just hanging out with like-minded friends, talking and joking and reminiscing about Disney.\u00c2\u00a0 They often have very professional segments, frequently involving Disney celebrities, but still manage to sound the most natural and least like a interview or press conference.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Muppetcast\" href=\"http:\/\/www.muppetcast.com\" target=\"_self\">Muppetcast<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Hosted by Steve Swanson.\u00c2\u00a0 Released once a week, each episode roughly an hour long.\u00c2\u00a0 This podcast focuses not on Disney specifically, but on the works and legacies of Jim Henson and the Jim Henson company.\u00c2\u00a0 As the Walt Disney Company now owns the most popular and well-known Henson creation, the Muppets, the Muppetcast necessarily talks a great deal about Disney by way of revealing the interactions between the two companies and products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of these podcasts, and many many more, can be found on the iTunes Music Store.\u00c2\u00a0 None of them have any costs to listen or subscribe.\u00c2\u00a0 I strongly recommend you try them out.\u00c2\u00a0 And if you listen to any others, please feel free to let me know about them.<\/p>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\" style=\"position: absolute;
